Dublin Cultural Institute - Accommodation

Host Family Accommodation

Dublin Cultural Institute offers its students accommodation in host families which are carefully selected by the school. Our host families are inspected by the Accommodation Officer before their registration with the school is fully completed and then they are regularly monitored once the student moves in with the family.

DCI also gives a questionnaire to the families prior to registration so that they can indicate their availability and also their preferences regarding gender, nationality, age group, etc.

Students who request host family accommodation also must fill in a questionnaire indicating their preferences or any special dietary requirements they may have such as being vegetarians, allergies, etc.

Our Accommodation Officer keeps in regular contact with both families and students in order to get feedback from them. Any complaints from either party are dealt with by the Accommodation Officer. We offer both full-board and self-catering options. Please note that self-catering is not offered by many families and therefore it is subject to availability.

Our standard prices for Host Family prices effective from June 1st 2008 are as follows:

  • Host Family accommodation. Partial Board €190 per person. This entitles student to bed & breakfast and evening dinner for seven days per week.
  • Host Family self catering €125 per week.
  • Host Family Finding Fee: €50

The prices indicated are per person in a single room or sharing (twin or double room).

Students who wish to book accommodation with an Irish host family must do so as early as possible. Students who wish to avail of this service must inform the school at least six weeks before their course of studies is due to start. Students can book the host family from a minimum of two weeks. The accommodation period booked through the school must be paid in advance and together with the host family finding fee and the course fees.

Terms and Conditions

Bookings for host family accommodation through Dublin Cultural Institute are usually for periods ranging from a minimum of 1 week up to a maximum of 4 weeks. There might be exceptions where the booking is for a longer period of time. Once the booking is finalized the student pays the accommodation fee to the school and we then pay the host family for the period of time booked through DCI.

IMPORTANT: DCI can arrange host family accommodation only for those students registered in the school. In case of cancellation of the accommodation booked, the school will charge half of the total fees paid for the accommodation. DCI will not refund those students who leave the host family before the accommodation period is up.
